Georgia Family Connection
The Georgia Family Connection Partnership is a statewide initiative that cultivates public and private collaboration at the local level. Family Connection collaboratives are located in all 159 of Georgia’s counties to promote healthy and academically successful children, and stable families that build strong communities. Cook County Family Connection has been a member of the Georgia Family Connection Partnership since 1997, receiving funding, technical assistance, training, and resources from this state-level partner.
Drug Free Communities
is a cornerstone of the Office of National Drug Control Policy, and provides funding and technical guidance for over 700 drug-free community coalitions across the country–including Cook County Family Connection. The Cook County Drug Free Communities Program operates under the collaborative umbrella of Cook County Family Connection and provides significant funding and support for alcohol and drug prevention education, programs, services, and outreach.
Southern Reach National Aids Fund
in collaboration with the Ford Foundation and the Elton John AIDS Foundation is supporting Cook County Family Connection in efforts to provide HIV/AIDS education, public awareness, and prevention outreach to youth and adults across Cook County.
Prevent Child Abuse Georgia
has been the leader for child abuse prevention in Georgia for more than 20 years, developing and implementing effective prevention programs. Cook County Family Connection partnered with Prevent Child Abuse Georgia in 2006 and receives resources, training, and technical support to assist with efforts to prevent child abuse and neglect in the local community.
AT&T High School Success Project
is a grant award provided through the AT&T Foundation specifically for purposes of implementing programs and services to improve academic success and prepare students for a bright future. Cook County Family Connection became an AT&T grant recipient in 2008 and has developed new student success initiatives for ninth grade students at Cook High School. Initiatives include intervention efforts, supplemental materials and curriculum as well as youth leadership programs.
Governor’s Office of Children & Families
System of Care targets students (grades 9-12) at Cook High School who are included on the graduation coach case load. Services include primary prevention, early intervention, mentoring, counseling and intensive case management.
